Airmed

Airmed has grown from small beginnings to become the UK’s leading air ambulance company. It was launched some 20 years ago with just one PA34 Piper Seneca. Today, the company remains faithful to its long-standing philosophy of total comitment to customer service, achieved through constant attention to detail.

Airmed operates from Oxford’s Kidlington Airport, one of the most conveniently located airports in southern England. The company offers a unique range of aircraft for ambulance flights. Ranging from the pressurized twin-turboprop Piper Cheyenne, the large Piper Chieftain and the Piper Seneca.

Unlike many operators in the aviation business, Airmed owns the great majority of its fleet, a policy which ensures that its customers are rarely disappointed by lack of availability. The company is also unusual in having its own maintenance facilities, a factor which helps to ensure its envied reliability.

We handle medical emergency flights including delivery of organs for transplant and we fly transplant teams to their destinations.

Airmed has played an important air ambulance role during the Iraq crisis. We collected injured personnel from airports such as Brize Norton & Ramstein in Germany for the return to home locations such as Belfast, Dublin and Glasgow to continue their recuperation close to their families

Airmed is supporting Transplants in Mind by providing sponsorship for some of our activities.
